NHK announced that actress Kurashina Kana (21) will play the starring role in their new morning dorama called "Welcame" that's going to start in September this year.
Kurashina was born in Kumamoto city and won the first place in the "Miss Magazine 2006" auditions. Since then she started to work as a gravure idol and as a TV actress.
1775 girls auditioned for the role, but she was the lucky one that got chosen. "I got informbed about it just an hour ago. From now on I will live my life to the fullest and keep on showing a natural smile." She commented at the PR event.
The story of "Welcame" is set in Tokushima's Minamy town and Tokushima city. It's a youth dorama that shows the personal growth of a girl that joined a publishing company in Tokyo, but got re-employed in her hometown due to restructure measurements.
