Ishihara Satomi in new Inoue Hisashi play

Posted by: Pori in ,

It has been announced that Ishihara Satomi (22) will play the heroine in Mr. Inoue Hisashi's (74) newest play "Kumikyoku Gyakusatsu" (Slaughter Suite or something like that), he's currently still in the process of writing.

Inoue is the finest Japanese dramatist, if not even the best. His latest work, "Musashi" with Fujiwara Tatsuya (26), Oguri Shun (26) and Suzuki An (22) in the leading roles has been performed in Japan since March this year and has been very popular so far. It was a huge success to combine his writer's soul with that of fresh young actors and so he decided to continue the same way. The new play will be set in the time of Takiji Kobayashi, one of the leading figures for proletarian literature and especially known for his work "Kanikosen" (The Crab Canning Ship) that will see movie adaption later this year.

Satomi herself has been really impressed by the play "Musashi", but when she heard that she would get that role and that the play will be in "slow-writing style", she trembled with fear. "It could be any kind of script, I better completely study the background and get a really clear image of that period in advance!" She commented in a panicked state.

Inoue is currently writing the script and uses a picture of Satomi as part of his inspiration. He's highly enthusiastic about her as the leading actress. "Ishihara-san could be my grandchild. I suddenly got a grandchild myself, so I think that I will be able to grasp something unexpected as well. I would like to properly create a role appropriate for such a big star."

Also appearing will be Inoue Yoshio (29), Takahata Atsuko (54) and others. Jazz pianist Ozone Makoto (48) will compose the music for the play. Kuriyama Tamiya (56) will take the seat of the director.
