Actress Shida Mirai (15) and director Kimidzuka Ryouichi (50) attended a commemoration event for that their movie "Dare mo mamotte kurenai" (Nobody to Watch Over Me) has already been seen by over 450,000 people in total.
"I prefer rice crackers over chocolate," Shida explained and gave Kimidzuka a 40 centimeters high heart-shaped rice cracker with 'Thank you. Mirai' written on it as present. "Rice crackers are so sticky," Kimidzuka replied with a smile.
"Did you give somebody chocolate?" Kimidzuka asked her. "I'll make 'friend chocolate' today." she answered, "But I'm not good at it, so my younger sister will have to help me."
Here some details and a trailer for those who don't know the movie.
A 15-year-old middle school girl is picked up at school by the police when her elder 18-year-old brother is arrested on suspicion of randomly murdering two grade school girls. She is put under the protection of a dedicated yet conflicted police detective who has orders to shield the girl from the inevitable public outrage that is to follow. Through these two protagonists’ eyes, we get a glimpse into the vulnerability, the isolation and even the resilience of the individual when up against a volatile and often intolerant world.
