Actress Ito Aiko (28) released her first own traveler's journal called "Ito Aiko's Gently Kyoto" today. In the guide she's introducing all the fascinations of Kyoto from her point of view.
At the age of 24 Ito traveled to London and was fascinated by how one of the Britons introduced all the charm of his homeland to her. Afterwards she then looked for something as fascinating in Japan and became captivated by the charm of Kyoto. Next to the popular places like the temple in Kyoto or the Kinkakuji, she introduces about 77 different places along with a possible walking route to see them all in one go. For the book she also tried out rickshaws and tried making raw yatsuhashi*.
Last fall Ito starred in Fuji TV's daytime dorama called "Aishuu no Romera". She finally became a full-blown actress and got rid of her cute image. Ito doesn't just have a similar name like famous actress Ito Maiko (44) who married a 5-years younger company employee, she also even wants to get married like her. "If it's the right timing, sure."
On the 28th she will be in Ginza, Tokyo for 1 hour to celebrate the release of her traveler's guide.
