The full trailer is finally out for Yakusho Koji's directorial debut, "Toad's Oil", though it's still pretty short at a little over a minute.

Takuya (Eita) is seriously injured in a car accident while returning from a date with his girlfriend Hikari (Nikaido Fumi). Around the same time, his juvenile delinquent friend Akiba (Sawayashiki Junichi) is released from a boys' reformatory. Takuya is carried to the hospital and it's discovered that he's fallen into a coma. His day-trading father Takuro (Yakusho) and his mother (Kobayashi Satomi) are at a loss as to what to do, but they decide to take Akiba in. Several days later Hikari calls for Takuya, completely unaware of what's happened to him. Takuro is unable to tell her the truth, so he picks up the phone and pretends to be Takuya.

Distributor Phantom Film will be releasing Toad's Oil in Japan on June 6, 2009.



Nikaido Fumi is a 14-years-old newcomer signed under SMA Entertainment. She made her model/gravure debut in the free magazine/newspaper "Picture Book of Beautiful Okinawan Girls Vol.4" and for Vol.5 she even was on the front cover. After that she started modelling for "NICOLA", but then she quit in order to become an actress. Her acting debut was in the movie "Kimi ni Utatta Love Song", but unfortunately it didn't get a real public release. Another movie with her, "Sora Soi" is also still pending.
