By the end of last year, actress Toda Erika (20) was in the news for staying a whole night together with Murakami Shingo (27) of the Johnny's group "Kanjani8". At that time Murakami himself spoke to the press, an unusal way to deal with rumors for Johnny's, and told them they are just 'very good friends'.

Now after 5 months they are still seen together and it seems to be like that their relationship already went beyond a mere 'close friendship'.

"It was about midnight, I think. They first seemed like any random couple, but then I noticed that it's Toda Erika and Kanjani8's Murakami. There aren't many people around at such a time, but I still wondered why they so openly revealed that they are really close. I mean, they've been clinging to each other's arms really closely. Anyway, they didn't seem to worry about it at all." A customer said who happened to be around at that time.

The place where that customer eye-witnessed the couple was in a supermarket below a large apartment complex and he hasn't been the only one who recognized the two.

"It started in early May, the two of them coming her to go shopping together. Murakami seemed like to have injured his leg. Erika worried about him a lot and supported him when walking all the time. She almost looked like a 'young wife' already, with the shopping basket in one hand and choosing the foodstuff with the other and all." Another customer commented.

Not that they only seem to have moved on to being a real couple, she's now even already looking like a young wife? They must have looked really intimate, if they already gave off such an impression.

The apartment complex above the supermarket is also the place where they've been spotted together many times in the first place.

"Going shopping late at night and then probably even cooking at home; it seems unlikely that she would return to her place after all that in the middle of the night. She might even already live together with him. There are a lot of families living here, there security around here is very good, too." A resident of that apartment complex pointed out.

Toda Erika is very busy right now with filming the dorama "BOSS", but she still seems to find a lot of time to meet with him.

Alright, they might not actually be living together, but the fact that they have often been seen in the supermarket below the apartment seems to be proof enough that she's often going to his place. The rumor last year also stated that she was staying over at his place and not the other way around.

Anyway, the two seem to be very close, whether that's still just as friends or as lovers. The fact that she spends a lot of time with him despite filming "BOSS" at the moment already says a lot. Either way, I just hope for them that they will be able to stay that close, because I guess it's very difficult to be really close (or in love) with someone in this business.

On a side note, Toda Erika also said something really interesting in a recent interview for a magazine. "The secret of beauty?" She got asked and her answer was, "I guess the most effective thing for a girl is to fall in love." That's exactly the case for her now, isn't it?

Actress Toda Erika (20) had a handshake event on the 10th to celebrate the release of her newest photo book called "Vivace" that went on sale on the 1st this month.

She can currently be seen in the Fuji TV dorama "BOSS", but on the other hand she's also a fashion leader in a way. For her new photo book she went to places like Rome for the shootings and cut a really good figure while wearing all the various dresses, some of them even designed by herself. Glamor and all is great, but in this photo book you can also see that Toda even looks good all natural, like when she just got up or when she's about to lie down.

The day of the event was also the Mother's Day and the reporters wondered whether she gave her mother one of her personally designed one-piece dresses as present. "They don't suit her, the designs are too cute..", she answered. What kind of present would she like to receive, if she was to get one? "A coupon for a shoulder massage to cure my stiff shoulders! When I was small, I gave one to my mother." Her answer caused a lot of laughter at the event.

Like last month, here now all the plots and trailers/teaser for the Japanese movies (with at least 1 actress in one of the main roles) that get releases in Japanese cinemas in May.

May 01st
Goemon

Over 35,000 people already attended the preview screenings all across the nation. 3 years of production, tons of high-class actors and actresses, over 100 sets, over 300 staff members, over 1000 extras and over 2000 CG-Cuts. Japan starts the summer blockbuster season with what could be a real masterpiece and sets the bar high for what there is to come. Actor Eguchi Yosuke and "Oscar-Actress" Hirosue Ryoko in the two main starring roles, but list of the cast is much longer than that (eg. Sato Eriko, Toda Erika, Tsuruta Mayu and so on).

Plot: In 1582 Oda Nobunaga was on the verge of conquering all of Japan, but was forced to commit suicide at Honno-ji Temple by one of his generals, Akechi Mitsuhide. Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Nobunaga’s top general, overthrew Akechi a few days later and completed Nobunaga’s dream of unifying Japan under one ruler. The world was at peace for a time, but soon a ninja bandit named Ishikawa Goemon (Eguchi Yosuke) appeared, using his super-human abilities to steal from the rich and give to the poor—a habit which cemented his reputation as a hero to commoners everywhere. One night while looting treasure from Nanban (Southern Barbarians), Goemon finds a mysterious box hidden inside a secret grave. A forgotten relic from the past containing untold powers, it isn’t long before Ishida Mitsunari, Kirigakure Saizo, Tokugawa Ieyasu, and Hattori Hanzo are all in persuit of the box for their own purposes.

When an unknown client enlists 507 to crack his most difficult programming code yet, the detective embarks for Shanghai where he crosses paths with a sniper, an informant, the head of the Blue-Dragon Mafia, and beautiful singer on the run, Meilan (Inamori Izumi). Yomei Ikkagetsu no Hanayome

On April 5, 2007, a couple married in a church (Eikura Nana and Eita). At first glance, it was a typical wedding. The bride, however, was suffering from late-stage breast cancer and had been given only a month to live. Based on the true story of Nagashima Chie, a women afflicted with breast cancer and her husband Akasu Taro. Nagashima's story was also told in a 2007 TBS documentary.

Donju (Dumb Animal)

An especially dull-witted young novelist named Dekoyan (Asano Tadanobu) goes missing and a subsequent investigation uncovers various plots by his friends to murder him—presumably for revealing a childhood secret through the increasingly-popular stories. Regardless of the absurd methods they used in their murder attempts, however, they just couldn't seem to finish him off. The screenplay is based on a Kudo Kankuro play and was adapted by Kudo himself. Stars actresses like Maki Yoko, Minamino Yoko and Satsukawa Ami.

Blood: The Last Vampire

In the fall of 1966, tensions run high on the U.S. Air Force base in Japan on the eve of the Vietnam War. After a series of suspicious suicides in a nearby town, an additional threat has infiltrated the military compound - vampires. A covert team of government agents committed to the elimination of vampires dispatch a mysterious young woman named Saya (Jun Ji Hyun), who in the guise of a schoolgirl, must uncover the origin of the demonic plague, eliminate the ghastly beasts and stop their reign of terror before time runs out. She is the last remaining original. Japanese actress Koyuki plays Onigen, Saya's nemesis.

Sometime in May..
Hijoshi zukan

Takashi Shimizu has put together a 6-part (7 if you count his own introduction) omnibus film by six different directors called Hijoshi Zukan. Each segment features a unique female protagonist in an unexpected situation. The film will begin screening at Theater Tsutaya in Shibuya in May.

Interesting for us are Adachi Rika (16) in part 1, Yamasaki Mami (23) in part 2 and Naka Riisa (19) in part 6, but of course all of them actresses are great nonetheless. ^^

Yet another news about Toda Erika this week. From the 25th on we will be able to see her as an active and systematic OL (office lady) in the new commercial for the "Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ" card loan services.

In the "plan to go drinking safely" edition as they call it, Toda plays a new OL who is on her way to a get-together with her coworkers and happens to encounter the chief of their department. However, beforehand she prepared herself with an umbrella in case of such a situation and opened it to hide herself behind it. She's successfully able to avoid the chief. That wraps up the theme of a safe get-together or drinking party.

Toda herself is as beautiful as always. She looks very natural as an OL and when all the salary men or office ladies are going to see her smile, they'll instinctly be able to empathy with her.

As a personal fan of the "Liar Game" dorama it makes me really happy to tell you that Fuji TV today announced a movie and a 2nd season!!

On the 23rd, Fuji TV is going to open the mobile site "Liar Game Project" (LGP) that offers an email magazine and an original game that you can play for free.

The original comic of "Liar Game" was created by mangaka Kaitani Shinobu. In 2007 Fuji TV then turned it into a unique dorama in their 11pm "Saturday Dorama" timeslot. It was about a large sum of money, packed with all kind of games and incredible psychological warfare. Now they are going to continue this thrilling story on a large scale, including a movie, a 2nd season and that mobile site mentioned above. There is still no date for either the movie or the dorama, but Fuji TV plans to announce it sometime this summer.

What's more important is that the two main characters will continue to be played by actress Toda Erika (20) and Matsuda Shota (23). Toda plays a soft-hearted female college student that originally got involved into the whole game mechanism without any reason and Matsuda a very talented swindler who somehow started to help her through the game. The games themselves won't be a copy from the first season, of course. They say that there will be much more powerful games and completely new rivals.

Toda was very excited about the announcement. "I'm really looking forward to what kind of story it will be this time." Matsuda is all fired up as well. "I'm already preparing all the lies."

Another week, another WPB!
This time we have the beautiful Toda Erika in the focus of attention. As usual I will also post all the other girls that are somewhat related to the acting business.

- full-fledged actress (not really a lot of outstanding roles, but at least a lot of roles.. ^^)

- Mainly a gravure idol again, but several side roles in doramas (Oh! My girl!, Onsen,...) and movies that should not be ignored. ^^
